A prime example of colonial architecture in Ipoh, the Ipoh Railway Station is a sight to see with its British colonial architecture with a touch of Indian architecture since its architect was a British who served in India before being posted in Malaysia! The railway station was initially designed to be a hospital before it was converted into a train station instead. Head there during the day to capture the beauty of the all-white structure, making a gorgeous backdrop for your #OOTD 
Currently, it is an active train station that is operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM).
Fun fact: The Ipoh Railway station was used as one of the shooting locations for the film Anna and the King, which starred Jodie Foster and Chow Yun Fat!

Book lovers, this one’s for you! In collaboration with Kong Heng, the large local book retailer, BookXcess now operates within what was formerly known as United Asian Bank at Kong Heng Square. The bank was one of the busiest banks in Ipoh during its days. This is definitely one spot you do not want to miss The bank’s original architecture has been well maintained and the vintage vaults and safe deposits in the basement floor have been converted into unique bookshelves creating a surreal atmosphere for a bookstore. Not to mention it has been decorated with vibrant pop art too

Also known as the Cave Temple, the Sam Poh Ting is a picturesque class of its own with its intricate details and nestled among lush greens Spend time exploring the tranquil and scenic beauty of the temple which also has a magnificent pond full of Japanese carps and tortoises. And find plenty of amazing crafts of Buddha statues in various forms.
You can also get an amazing view of Ipoh town from the higher area, an open cave, of the temple but you’ll have to climb up 246 flights of steps which usually takes about 30 minutes or so.

This Indian Muslim stall has purportedly been in operation since 1956 – That’s a good 61 years of finger-licking good food! You can either add on side dishes like vegetables, squid and the likes but I like to keep mine simple with their standard plate of gravy, ayam merah, salted egg and their must-have coconut sambal. This isn’t the place to linger over your meal, so be sure to clear your plates quick for the next round of customers!
