The Lunar New Year holidays are coming and you know what that means – time to make reservations for the celebratory feast you’ve been thinking about 🎉

Here, we have compiled a list of halal-certified buffets which will be offering Chinese cuisines in celebration of the special occasion, and that includes yu sheng of course! If you have always wanted to try Chinese cuisine, this is indeed the perfect opportunity to do so. All you have to do is take your pick from the amazing spread of buffets available 😉

1. AquaMarine

This Chinese New Year, AquaMarine is bringing in irresistible specials such as Szechuan chicken stew and braised duck with lotus leaves. Just looking at this picture of their braised duck will get you excited to feast 🤤

For a more authentic CNY experience, why not try your hand at making your own yu sheng at their DIY yu sheng station?

True to their name, AquaMarine’s seafood spread is pretty amazing! With all that fresh seafood, international AND local delights, it’s really not hard to see why people can’t stop raving about this buffet. Especially for dinner on the eve of CNY, you can dig into steamed whole scallops with crispy garlic and soy sauce, as well as abalone, sea cucumber and braised radish in organic pumpkin nage. 2. StraitsKitchen

If you’re looking for an ambient family-friendly setting for a reunion, StraitsKitchen is the place to be. On round tables perfect for family feasts, have their yu sheng in commemoration of the festive period!

Dine on CNY specials such as their braised dried oyster with black moss, chicken feet, dark soy sauce and superior sauce. If you’re craving for more, indulge in the world’s first Marine Stewardship Council certified abalone, served in clay pot with a blend of mushrooms, broccoli and superior stock ($38++). Usually only served at weddings, this is definitely the big treat you need for the long weekend!

3. Katong Kitchen

Specialising in Peranakan and local cuisine, Katong Kitchen will be ringing in the Lunar New Year with their Prosperity Buffet! Feast on auspicious dishes, such as this slipper lobster in chilli crab sauce symbolizing family and unity.

4. Carousel

Carousel is back with their Lunar New Year Festive Buffet! Their buffet boasts a wide array of cuisines from all over the world and best of all, their 2018 special – halal Rhapsody of Pineapple Yu Sheng. This yu sheng is made up of fresh pickled purple cabbage, shredded fruits, and crisp pineapple rings. The burst of sweet flavours is also complemented with the quintessential sashimi 😋

The Mediterr-asean cuisine in 21 On Rajah brings together a selection of Mediterranean favourites, like spiced Basmati and Sultana Saffron Rice, and street Asian fares such as clams in Assam Chilli and barbecued chicken with sambal squid rings!

Situated on a poolside among the lush greenery of Changi Village, Saltwater Cafe will provide the peaceful yet sumptuous feast you’d desire for the holidays.
