You might have seen a photo or two of this tall, fluffy pancakes online and thought, “Wow, doesn’t this look yummy?” 
Well, friends, this beauty here is called a soufflé pancake.

Yet another dessert originating from Japan (where this is known as the fuwa fuwa pancake), soufflé pancakes are a lighter, airier version of our traditional, dense pancakes. Just like the soufflé, this pancake is made with egg whites stiffly beaten until it rises. 
There are a limited number of known cafes that serve this mouthwatering dessert in Kuala Lumpur but only two are certified Halal. This is where you’ll find them

The Orijinaru Pancake is their signature soufflé pancake that tastes just as heavenly with a dollop of cream and a drizzle of honey 
You’ll also get a choice of fillings like savoury cream cheese, the ever popular nutella and their specialty black forest (chocolate pancake filled with black cherries) 🤤

Franco is also famed for their pot-baked soufflés with a choice of 4 fillings – the traditional vanilla custard, Japanese matcha powder, Gruyere and Parmesan cheese and oozy dark chocolate. Almost as light as air, you’ll want to give these a try too

This popular Japanese franchise is now in Malaysia with their first outlet in Midvalley Megamall With more than 180 outlets in their homeland, there must be a reason why they’re so successful! And a pretty good guess would be their soufflé pancakes Like cutting into a poofy cloud, their soufflé pancake is humbly served the original way – with cream and maple syrup or honey syrup. They have pot-baked soufflés too that comes with fillings like vanilla custard, vanilla chocolate and matcha Pair this with their specialty hand-drip coffee, you’re in for a perfect treat!
