Specifically, this thought probably always comes to mind: “Where can I find halal Bak Kut Teh and does it even exist?” 🤔 Well… it’s time to rejoice because we have the answers for you!

For the uninitiated, Bak Kut Teh translates to ‘meat bone tea’ in Hokkien but contrary to the name, it does not actually have tea in it. Bak Kut Teh sold by halal-certified restaurants are made with beef (or lamb) meat in herbal broth, so you can finally feast with all your friends! Simply take your pick from these 5 Halal-certified stalls in different parts of Singapore 
1. Habib Family Restaurant
Recently in the limelight for their halal Bak Kut Teh is Habib Family Restaurant near Bukit Gombak MRT station. For over 15 years, the owners have been substituting pork with lamb meat and beef so the Muslim community is able to enjoy a different cultural cuisine. Their Chinese chef and owner uses the traditional herbs to cook the broth, so this dish is as authentic as it can get!

You can get their Bak Kut Teh with beef ($6) or lamb meat ($8.50), or opt for the set which includes rice, omelette, kang kong, and sambal belacan (chilli paste). Especially in sweater weather, the rich broth and tender chunks of beef will definitely be a treat for your tastebuds.
